Once in a while, if you're lucky, you find the perfect combination of flavours that not only excite the mouth but wakes up all your senses.
If you've been to Kinki and have tried the new menu developed by new Executive Chef Pablo Robaina, then you know exactly what I'm talking about. If you haven't, then let me tell you why you should absolutely go. Today.
Perhaps one of the most exquisitely beautiful restaurants located in the heart of the Byward Market in Canada's Capital, KINKI has managed to integrate the exotic decors of the Far East with the more modern complements of the West giving you an Asian Fusion restaurant - from the interiors of the individual tables to the seats at the bar, from the wonderfully diverse drink menu to the to-die-for sushi and Asian-inspired menu.
Fresh from his recent stint at sister restaurant Mambo Nuevo Latino, Executive Chef Pablo has definitely brought that distinct Latin flair with him. The brand new fusion of fresh seafood in the sushi topped with the best grade premium fillet mignon reminds me of the very popular dish "El Matador" at Mambo.
Staring and not eating: The always gorgeous Ms. Claira Calderone, Accounts and Promotions Manager, Kinki with Twenty York Street's Dhonnah P.
Tweetin' before eatin' - Ms. @chow_n_chug shares the stunning sushi selection to Twitter fans.
Sometimes, I wish I was a food blogger so I can find the most appropriate words to describe Saturday's dinner at KINKI. But it really was to die for. Though we stayed with one pairing all evening, Claira's choice of white - the EVOLUTION from a vineyard in Oregon (who knew Oregon produced beautiful wines) was the most perfect choice as it went well with everything.
Stars of the Featured Menu from KINKI:
* Special Sushi Selection by Chef Amin
* Wakame 3 Ways: Pesto, Lemon-infused and Black Sesame
* Scallop on shell with Lobster and Red Onion Curry Sauce
* Duck Magret Crispy Balls
* The Ultimate KINKI dessert by Chef Pablo
It was an absolute feast for the senses, hence I just can't help load this post with photos after photos. The restaurant was alive with quite the buzz of the weekend crowd and the LIVE DJ, the food was visually attractive, it smelled fantastic, the company (Claira, Dhonnah, Marc F. and the other men in my life next table) felt warm and amazing and the taste was just utterly, tantalizingly delicious.
So, why am I telling you all this? Aside from the fact that when you discover something really, really good, it's a crime not to share it.
I'm telling you about KINKI's new menu because its November Movember. That means let's take time to honour the men in our lives, to raise awareness for men's health and the fight against prostate cancer. If I truly love that man above, if I completely care about his health and his future, I would go to KINKI and support their charity dinner and I think you should too. For the man or men in your lives.
Or I'll make you a sweet deal.
I'm giving away a Dinner for Two at KINKI's Movember Charity Dinner. Follow me - ML (@20YS), Dhonnah (@chow_n_chug) and of course, KINKI (@KINKIMAMBO) on Twitter and let us know who are you taking to KINKI if you win and why.

Since it is too far from me, I can only look and drool at the pictures of the food. They sure make beautiful presentation huh.
I do agree with what you said, "when you discover something really, really good, it's a crime not to share it." It's the same principle that I follow for the things that I write about.
I have been craving sushi and these pictures are making me so hungry! Glad to hear you had an Oregon wine... we have lots of fabulous wineries here!
