If you wake up tomorrow and re-invent yourself to whoever you want to be, if money is no issue and you can just pick a profession - any profession - what would it be?
They say if you do what you love, what you are passionate about, you will never have to do a day's work in your entire life.
Is this true?

Most of us started blogging because we love it, because we have a point of view and we want to share it to the world or to our readers who are kind enough to come back again and again to visit. But at point or another, all of us have wondered - should I make money out of my blog? If so, how?
Monetization of blogs is and always have been a hot topic of discussion. From media kits to rate cards, from sponsored posts to give-aways, I'm sure we've all googled how much is the going market rate for blog fees these days. While there is an endless amount of blogs and articles that talks about money, there's actually a very few who really talks about money. Perhaps it's the same reason it's rude to ask somebody how much they make that we don't put the actual dollar figures in these discussion and that's just not helpful, isn't it. After all, blogs take a lot of time and hard work to put together and maintain, I think we can all agree on that. Time is money and time is a precious commodity. Use it wisely.
What about you, are you making money out of your blog? If you had a choice, would you like to become a Fashion Blogger (or any type of blogger) full-time?

I think it's a sensitive subject, just like anything to do with money is. I would continue blogging even if I weren't making money from it, because I really like writing and connecting with like-minded people. There are so many other benefits aside from the cash, too, like career opportunities, first views at industry news, and samples. I wouldn't lie about what I earn from it, but I certainly wouldn't plaster it all over the place. It can be a turn off for a reader, IMO, and my readers are more important than another sponsored post or sample.

You look AMAZING ML!! Gorgeous!!
I'd love to make money off my blog too. It is so much work, that even lately I'm thinking I need a break. It would be different if I actually made something. Sigh.
blogging is my hobbies and I like it that way for now.
Blogging is definitely in the hobby category for me. If money wasn't an issue, I'd go to law school! That dress is amazing!
What a great gift from having a "wardrobe malfunction." I love that dress! :)
I also believe it's(blogging) different for every person, contingent on one's purpose and goals. When it becomes a chore then perhaps it's not the best outlet for a person. I enjoy blogging and do it because I'm passionate about it, but it has also been quite helpful for sharing some of my other skills with the world that I would not have otherwise. xo/Madison
Looking AMAZING that dress is fab...what I found awesome is that I was actually just entering my blog and starting to browse and I was singing sweet dreams and then I say the title of your post...fabulous minds think alike..don´t we? haha

In the perfect world, I'd be blogging shows all over the world for fashion, beauty, food, film and culture (I'd do all four major Fashion Weeks as well as Hong Kong, Tokyo and Shanghai and attend Cannes and Sundance for film. I'd also review operas at the Met in New York) and review restaurants all over the world. Realistically, I'm pretty much stuck in the eastern time zone (and mostly Toronto, at that).
Great post ML! Sometimes when we make money from our hobbies it becomes work and less enjoyable (that's what happened with me and Zumba, I don't even participate in the classes anymore!) I love writing and if I could blog on my own agenda and make $, amazing but blogging about something that doesn't mesh with me wouldn't fuel my passion. LOVE that dress (am wishing it was summer time!) and want to hear about the wardrobe malfunction lol!
Oh I'm definitely gonna have tell you guys about that wardrobe malfunction! It was really embarrassing!
I agree with you Em, when it becomes work and you have to adhere to a schedule, boy, it does kind of take the fun away!
Fabulous minds (and fabulous style) indeed Papi!
super hot!
You look so incredibly beautiful in that dress! And I am so loving the earrings - the color is gorgeous! :)

Well written post....not so much in the money part of blogging yet enjoying the huge white spaces on my blog at the moment! BUT YOU'RE LOOKING HOT IN THAT AWESOME DRESS!!

There's no sharp corners in any of these pictures (apart from the stiletto), very nice!
I'm too much of an amateur to make any money from my blog, plus when I'm asked for pictures or information I tend to give it away.
Hey! Thank you very much for your nice comment!
Beautiful dress and it suits you very well :)
beautiful lace detail!
GORGEOUS dress!! Thanks for the tweet! I would love to make $$ from my blog and get recognized :) But for now it's something that I learned to love doing as a hobby <3 But someday, hopefully it will happen!!
You are absolutely gorgeous! Love this dress, girl!
