Following the wildly successful launch of the much-anticipated special collaboration between Twenty York Street and Acquired Taste -
The Special Launch: The FAB COLLAB - we are so excited to publish our second edition!
When the sun gets brighter and weather gets hotter, jeans may not be the first thing that you'd want to grab out of your closet but you know very well, sooner or later, denim, even in the summer, is sometimes just the way to go.
There is something so effortlessly chic about, so casual yet it can be both sexy and elegant at the same time.
On a non-aesthetic note, jeans/denim have always been one fashion item that seemed to have etched itself as part of a lasting memory: a special date, a rockin' concert, a weekend by the beach or maybe even the summer of '69.
"Here's what I think is modern. It's like wearing a couture jacket with a pair of jeans."
Karl Lagerfeld
I think just about everyone wanted a pair of coloured jeans this season, whether bootcut, straight or skinny, non-blue bottoms are all the rage this spring/summer. Everyone from the GAP to J Crew, from Lacoste to Banana Republic all the way to the fashion houses of Armani and Versace embraced the coloured jeans again, this time, with much gusto.
Not surprising of course is the apparent popularity of RED as the colour of choice by both men and women. And why not? Paired with flats, wedges or stilettos, red is as attractive as ice cream on a hot, sunny day.
Laura's Fab Collab illustration of the colour/skinny jean combination seems to be the perfect denim du jour this summer.
Whether you plan to spend all day at a Music Festival like the upcoming world famous Osheaga Music Festival in Montreal (it's the Canadian equivalent of Coachella in California) or going for a romantic dinner out at some fancy downtown restaurant, red skinnies is the easy choice, second to none.
"I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity - all I hope for in my clothes."
So, tell us what you think of the second edition of The FAB COLLAB. I'm trying to contain my excitement about this special collaboration but I don't think I can.
Okay, I'm trying, harder.
