Sea of Shoes

Disclaimer before I begin, some of the words in this post may not be original, it is old and has been published in the past but I have to tell you, the sentiment will live on forever. This may sound superficial as this has something to do with shoes and the rack that keeps them on display but it's really the thought and the intention behind that I want to address here.

A few years ago, E built me this structure, a beautiful home for my shoes. It's not that he is a big fan of my sartorial belongings and want to showcase them even better for all to see, in fact, it's quite the opposite, he always gives me grief on the amount of clothes and shoes I have and it's a constant source of friction.

Joy. Yet, despite that, he thoughtfully and laboriously created this one of a kind shoe rack for me. I have never seen anything quite like it. Because one reason and one reason alone.

Fashion and Style: Twist and Shout

Work. Career. 9 to 5. Ah, that one certain social convention we are all expected to have by the time we reach a certain age. Earlier in some cultures and in others, if you are lucky, much later or not expected at all.

Yeah, I don't exactly know who belongs to that last category… at least not personally. But there's one thing I do know, there are times I am completely envious of them. So free, so liberated from the confines of grey cubicles and that big bad clock on the wall.

Twenty York Street Loves... Natalie Fraser

She holds a Masters degree in International Affairs, a challenging career, she's a writer, an analyst and a multi-talented woman. She has an intensive training schedule and still finds the time to help her friends and family with their own charitable work. These and more are what makes Natalie Fraser one truly amazing daughter, girlfriend and friend to me and so many others.

Motivated by a friend’s son diagnosed with Leukemia, she’ll be running her first marathon in 2012 for him and has set the goal of fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada.

Coffee and a Thousand Kisses

Sometimes, when there are so many places to go to, so much to do, so much to say – it helps to just step back, even for a moment and try to see things from a bigger perspective. Oh, it’s not always easy I know, especially when you are right in the middle of something and that red due date sign is just staring you in the face.

But believe me, taking a short walk, a quick cup of coffee (or tea, if you prefer) or even just a deep breath (hopefully, more than just three!) can help you refocus and maybe even more efficient.

Personally, I'd pick a coffee and a thousand kisses, any day!

Special Post: The Globe Trekker

I am many things but there is one thing I have to admit (albeit embarrassed to), I am no outdoors girl. Don't get me wrong, I am in awe with the magnificence, the sheer beauty of nature that I've spent hours and hours just sitting there staring at the magnificent snow-capped mountains, the vast expanse of the ocean and the splendid colours of the sky during many a sunset.
To wake up in the morning with that burning desire to load my mountain bike, canoe or kayak on top of car and set up tent in the middle of the wilderness...
