Bigger and Better is what it promises to be this year. I came, I saw, I was in awe!
It may have been a few months ago but it seems like yesterday when I sat on the front row for three nights in a row to bear witness to Canada's exceptionally talented designers for the 4th season of Ottawa Fashion Week! I couldn't contain my excitement and anticipation for the event and believe me when I say this - this may not be Milan, New York, Paris or Toronto but Ottawa can now proudly brand itself as a strong contender in the fierce world of fashion.
The city distinctly prides itself not just of history arts and the government but evidently, also of fashion and style. I was surrounded by the city's top stylistas, undeniable talent, fashion bloggers and lovers that I can still feel that feverish sartorial high!
On top of all that, I have to admit that it was beyond cool to see your name, not only on the VIP section but on the front row seated right beside the country's established as well as up and coming fashion designers:
One of the highlights of the weekend is getting outfitted by Ottawa Fashion Week's featured designers! The whimsical and romantic Yola Couture. The perfectly arhictectured wool grey dress from Rachel Sin. And this stunning piece - the absolutely gorgeous skirt (yes, that is a skirt worn as a dress) Dolly from Kania! A luxury street style clothing that was created with style, luxury and comfort in mind - this line is truly a reflection of what modern women wants in fashion - beautiful and wearable!
Stacey Bafi-Yeboa is the much celebrated beauty and genius behind Kania (an Ashanti word that means light), a clothing line that inspires women to be fashionable, sexy yet fun and comfortable. Each of her pieces are made of the highest quality material and is thoughtfully designed with all her heart and soul. And I know that personally, why? Stacey is not only one of my inspiration as one of the most talented designers and great success stories in Canada but she is also a dear friend!
Thank you so much to Kania for sponsoring my outfit at the Ottawa Fashion Week! I cannot tell you enough how many, many times I was stopped, complimented and photographed the entire night - I won't take any credit for it as I know it was totally and completely because of this brilliantly coloured Dolly skirt that I wore as a dress and belted!
What to do at the front row?
