Grey and Black
While so many has lauded the timelessness and classic appeal of the Little Black Dress from Chanel to Prada, Nina Ricci to Tim Gunn, Loft to Banana Republic to Target. Alright, I'm just assuming the last one as (un) fortunately for us here in Canada, we don't have the infamous Tar-jay for our shopping pleasure. Perhaps that's a good thing for me as I imagine, based on the recent Tucker for Target craze in the fall (here's looking at you my dear Carrie!), if that house of affordable style and trend is around, I may set up my trusty camping tent in the store's foyer.
Alright, that last line was a half-lie. Yes, it's quite possible you'll see me at Target every shopping opportunity I manage to sneak in my day but I do NOT actually own a camping tent, sleeping bag, mortar and pestle (you do need that when you camp, don't you?) or anything camping related. As to why, I'll leave that to another post but its pretty safe to say: I wouldn't be cajoled and coerced into camping (ugh!) anytime soon considering the season is over!
Now if we can just get back to the thesis of today's post, I wanted to talk to you about the ubiquitous LBD. On my way to work, I've been trying to conjure a pretty clever title on that (I think this was because I read Mel's post last night on trying to come up with brilliant post titles) and so far I've come up with L-Love, B-Beauty but it's been over two hours and I'm still stumped with D. Anyone?
Okay, this is not exactly the post I had in mind so before I go off to another tangent, let me just say, LBD - I'm a HUGE fan! I'm a groupie in fact. Exhibit A - the three beauties above (all from Banana Republic) are just a small snapshot of the many little black dresses I've managed to purchase over the last few months. Exhibit B - this, this and that!
So my darlings, before I bid you adieu and Happy Monday, I'd like to remind you of Twenty York Street's Designer Dress Give-away: The Callie! Yolande Deschenes, the designer herself will draw the very lucky winner on Wednesday, November 10th. Don't forget to enter!
xoxo,
