Happy Thanksgiving Canada!

Dear friends of Twenty York,

Today is officially a Holiday as Canada celebrates its Thanksgiving weekend. No other day is more appropriate for me to take a moment and give my very heartfelt thanks to so many friends and family, who stood by me through downright downs and exhilarating highs all these years. I thank God for everything, everyone who came into my life, may it be for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime - you have helped me be the person who I am today.

I thank J, who didn't really know what he was getting into when I said we are starting a blog but like anything, he trusted me blindingly and now, its a little too late to get of this roller coaster ride. Without any relative experience to blogging or photography, he has been an absolute pro - a real talent and natural eye behind the camera. But more than anything, I would have not survived without his rare and special friendship. Muchas gracias mi Chickie.

I thank E, without whom, I would have not been able to accomplish many incredible things in the last five years. He's been patient as he's been formidable, he's been inspirational as he's been practically helpful, he's been my rock and my source of endless strength. And if I may borrow a phrase from a blog-related movie: He is the butter to my bread, the breath to my life. Merci mon amour... Je t'aime.

To my crazily dysfunctional family, who can single-handedly drive you insane amidst bouts of spontaneous laughter (especially with li'l Erica), I owe you a whole lot more than I'd like to always humbly admit. My recent attempt into a world of 'pro' blogging, a Blogger's Competition that I would have not ventured into on my own has been the result of pushing and prodding by my dear pest (a term of endearment, of course) of a sister, Nimau. (Click here to see result of said nerve-wracking BBB Competition.) To all of you, here in Canada, in the Philippines and all over the world (including my extended family in Dublin: Pearl, Jan and PJ), salamat.

I did mean for this to be a five-minute post, sneaked in-between basting the turkey in the oven, a task stealthily awarded to me this year by my Mother but I suppose you can't be too scant when you're giving thanks.

Twenty York Street hasn't been around for that long but it has been an absolutely tremendous and exciting ride! A huge thank you to the Busy Neighbour for introducing me to the world of blogs and for inspiring me to go ahead and just start one! We have gained so many dear friends along the way and we are very thankful for each and everyone of you who takes the time to visit, to leave wonderfully positive comments and who continues to send us encouragement and inspiration every single day.

Thank you, merci beacoup, muchas gracias, salamat po!

love always,

ML

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner and that everything turned out well! :) (See, I don't cook, although I suppose I'm going to have to learn how to cook now, so the idea of cooking anything for Thanksgiving freaks me right out.)
