I'm so happy with how well-received Twenty York Street's very first Feature Friday was, JoAnn's interview was witty and entertaining and her style, impeccable! I'm sure you'll be very pleased to know that she will be guest blogging here very soon. Also, a give-away has been on the brew for quite sometime but I have been terribly busy at work and I will also be in travelling for the next couple of weeks but I promise, you will love it!
As some of you may know, I have a love/hate relationship with Fall. Though I love the fashion of fall, its gorgeous colours and textures, I am a perpetual summer girl (growing up in an island and all) and will always yearn for the warm rays of the sun even during walks through autumn's beautiful foliage. Its not quite fall that I love to hate, its the fact that fall is unfairly tasked to be the (despised) messenger of the cold and messy winter. This year, I vow things will be different. I thought the better prepared I am, the more I'd actually get to enjoy the changing of the season instead of shivering underneath my turtleneck and cursing under my trench coat's breath!
In the effort of keeping myself sane and warm, I went online (despite my un-justified fear of buying things off the Internet, I know, I know...) I purchased these Steve Madden Riding Boots:
Olster Cognac Riding Boots - Step into fall with style! Elegant studs add a touch of glamour to a classic riding boot, making the Olster the most versatile shoe of the season! Dress them up with a mini skirt and romantic blouse, or dress them down with leggings and a blazer.
I must say, I'm pretty impressed of how quickly they came, not giving me a chance to change my mind and call their returns department. Lisa (of Respect the Shoes) posted a not-so-favourable review after I hit the purchase button so I waited (though not for long) in bated breath to see how these boots will look like.
They came in a very nice and elegant huge black box and just as how beautiful it was on the outside, it is absolutely gorgeous on the inside, it fits perfectly and is decently comfortable. Though I'm ashamed to say I haven't really tried them with actual outfits on, I think for 40% off plus an additional 20% off, I'd say it's a pair to keep, yes? (Please feel free to disagree, I'd be glad to hear your thoughtful opinion, I mean it!)
There's one more thing I wanted to ask you, though I really do feel silly asking you this. I participated in Kathu's Vibrant Summer Contest and this outfit (from my most recent outfit post) is what I thought my brightest and most vibrant colour yet. I would never ask you this but since its my very first, I'd really love for you to check it out and vote, well, for me of course! (At least one vote so my self-esteem won't get completely crushed, zero vote just sounds like a very harsh number, ha ha!)
Happy Monday Loves!
